Recruiter Notes: Same company for the past 10 years, Sr QA Analyst, then was a Release Train Engineer…. they became Agile in 2011… he became a CSM in 2015… in 2015 they started a SAFE program… as part of that SAFE program, the Chief Agilist got everyone onto a Release Train… started with 10 teams, ended up with 22 teams after 3 years… within that time the company acquired 11 companies over those 3 years… rapid growth, and a lot of integration of companies and teams into what they already had… building a suite of tools…building on a platform that would look seamless to the clientele… it was his responsibility as RTE for 10 week increments, at the beginning of each 10 weeks there was a 2 day planning session and then presentations about priorities for the 10 weeks for each of the departments…. then all the teams work out 4 sprints worth of work in that 10 weeks…. then work out dependency between teams and risks associated with the 10 week increment, what they could assume in the risks and what they could take care of and what would happen if something didn’t get done…. then during the course of the 10 weeks he was leading the Scrum of Scrums Meeting and getting together with all the other SMs at the company to make sure everyone was on track, offering help and coaching, remove impediments for the release train…. then a retrospective to review how they did and compare to previous increments…An RTE is in the SAFE framework, is the PM, prioritizing, then at the program level there’s the Release Train, facilitating all of the ceremonies, making sure all the teams are on the same page, working out the dependencies, etc, during the 10 weeks, so he’s like the Scrum Master for all the Scrum Masters…. facilitating everything for all of the teams…Looking for a Scrum Master or RTE or Agile Coach role…Lives in Quakertown – open to up to 1 hour is fine – KOP/Malvern is fine – going to CC is OK, not ideal, but for the right opportunity it’s fine….Was at $120k and would like to match but bottom line $100k….great talk…schedule an interview today.
