Principal User Experience Architect Ready To Interview | (484) 636-9233

Principal User Experience Architect who is a user experience designer and researcher with 17 years of experience in user experience research and design. Consulting with clients to define business needs and project objectives. Leading and mentoring junior designers and researchers.

Skills: Rapid prototyping, Morae, Tobii Studio eye tracking software, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indigo Studio, UX, wireframing,

Compensation Requirements: Currently makes $140K + 401K match + occasional bonuses. Looking for $150K–$160K (depends on the job and commute) + 401K match (very nice to have) + healthcare + 3+ weeks PTO + occasional work-from-home.

Location Requirements: Less than one hour from Havertown, PA + one day per week work-from-home. Currently commutes one hour and 20 minutes to NJ + two days work-from-home.

Interview Notes: UX architect, works on client projects where he does user research with stakeholders and clients and does initial design through wireframes and prototypes (not visual design, but works with a visual designer). Looking for a senior, lead, or principal designer role in UX or a user research specialist position. In his career, he’s become a generalist UX researcher/designer. Strengths include conducting user research, knowing what people need, working with clients and stakeholders, UX research and design, being organized and thorough, observing behavior and analyzing results and findings, good presentation skills, delivering to clients and persuading them. He’s really interested in user research, different research techniques, learning more about data analytics, possibly doing more with accessibility for people with disabilities.

Likes his current employer, but it’s been slow for the last two years because of sales. He’s in their consulting group, and the company has been more focused on their software sector instead of consulting. He hasn’t had a project for a month and his coworkers are also looking, but there’s no threat of layoffs. He feels like he’s gone as far as he can there. Doesn’t care about corporate vs. startup, but wants a consulting group where he’s working with different clients on different products (likes the variety). Prefers smaller companies.

Education: Masters, Human-Computer Interaction
